The Plymouth Prowler and Kustom Katz LLC
The year was 1993 and the event was the Detroit Auto Show. It was here that the Plymouth Prowler concept car was unveiled which took the automotive world by storm due to its retro style, invoking heart pounding enthusiasm and memories of the great American Hot Rods from years long gone by.
Finally in 1997, automotive enthusiasts got their wish as the first Prowlers rolled off the assembly line, available in one color only, Prowler Purple. The Prowler was far ahead of its time and represented many firsts for Plymouth including:
- Cycle Fendered Open Front Wheels
- 45/55 percent front/rear weight distribution
- Distinctive Curved Front Body
- Chassis Weight Reduction Technology
Sadly in 2002 after only 11,702 cars were produced over five model years, the Prowler was discontinued. However, the enthusiasm for this piece of automotive history has never waned, and only continues to grow as the Prowler becomes even more rare today.
